Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (HS Clinical, Clinical X) Pediatric Pathologist
Salary is negotiated annually within the posted UC Salary scales. The base pay range for this position is $280,000 - $330,400. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.
About the role
The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Diego seeks a Pediatric Pathologist. The Pediatric Pathology Division at Rady Children’s Hospital–San Diego (RCHSD) currently has 8 full-time pathologists and provides a full range of anatomic and clinical pathology services, including approximately 13,500 surgical pathology, 400 bone marrow, 1,500 cytopathology cases, and 20 pediatric autopsies per year.
The Department participates in ACGME-accredited fellowship training in Surgical Pathology, Gastrointestinal Pathology, Hematopathology, and Neuropathology at the UCSD School of Medicine and trains medical students and residents in pediatric pathology from the UCSD School of Medicine and the San Diego Naval Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Provide coverage of a full range of Pediatric Pathology services, including a share of call.
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications
- MD or equivalent.
- Eligibility for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the California Medical Board.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic, Clinical, and/or Pediatric Pathology.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least three years of experience in pediatric anatomic and clinical pathology diagnosis.
Appointment
The appropriate series and appointment as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor will be based on the candidate’s background and experience. If appointed to a title covered by the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
