Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (HS Clinical, Clinical X) Surgical Pathologist

About the role

The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Diego is seeking surgical pathologists to join its Division of Anatomic Pathology. Successful candidates will have clinical responsibilities for specimens associated with robust general care, organ transplant, and cancer programs at UC San Diego Health, including the Rebecca and John Moores Cancer Center, Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center and Cardiovascular Institute, Jacobs Medical Center, Hillcrest Medical Center, and the Koman Family and McGrath Outpatient Pavilions, as well as their referral/outreach/consultation programs and an expanding clinical integration network.

The successful candidate will also attend and sign-out on one or more clinical subspecialty services within the Anatomic Pathology Division and will teach medical students, residents, and fellows. The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience.

Responsibilities

• Attend and sign-out on one or more clinical subspecialty services within the Anatomic Pathology Division
• Teach medical students, residents, and fellows
• Have clinical responsibilities for specimens associated with robust general care, organ transplant, and cancer programs at UC San Diego Health
• Contribute to research and teaching activities

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent, DO, or MD/PhD in pathology or related fields
• Board-eligible or board-certified in Anatomic or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology
• Completed fellowship training in a subspecialty of Surgical Pathology (such as Breast, Head and Neck, Cardiac/Thoracic, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, or Gynecologic Pathology) by the start of the appointment

Additional Qualifications (required at Time of Start)

• Completed fellowship training in a subspecialty of Surgical Pathology (such as Breast, Head and Neck, Cardiac/Thoracic, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, or Gynecologic Pathology) by the start of the appointment
