Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (HS Clinical, Clinical X, In-Residence, Adjunct) Neuro-Oncology
Salary is negotiated annually within the range of $200,000 - $350,000. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.

The Department of Neurosciences and Moores Cancer Center at UC San Diego seek candidates dedicated to advancing innovative research while delivering outstanding patient care to join the Neurosciences and Medical Oncology faculty. UC San Diego has a strong history of leadership in neuro-oncology research and clinical care, offering extensive opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration with Neurosciences, Neurosurgery, Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, and basic science programs.
The Moores Cancer Center, the only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in San Diego, is a hub of excellence in research, treatment, education, and prevention, serving patients across Southern California. The selected candidates will play a key role in enhancing UC San Diego’s neuro-oncology program, including developing and implementing cutting-edge clinical trials and contributing to the growth of the program’s clinical services. The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience. Available series include:
- HS Clinical Professor (APM 278)
- Clinical X Professor (APM 275)
- In-Residence Professor (APM 270)
- Adjunct Professor (APM 280)
As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
Responsibilities
- Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and clinical fellows
- Provide clinical care to patients with neuro-oncologic disorders
- Develop and implement cutting-edge clinical trials
- Contribute to the growth of the neuro-oncology program’s clinical services
Requirements
- MD, DO, or equivalent degree
- Currently in or have completed a UCNS-accredited fellowship in Neuro-Oncology
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Neuro-Oncology
- Eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California
- Candidates currently in a UCNS-accredited Neuro-Oncology fellowship must complete their training by the start of the appointment
