Assistant/ Associate/ Full Specialist Position - Pati Lab
About the role
The Pati Lab is seeking an Assistant, Associate, or Full Specialist to assist with and execute rodent models of injury, including traumatic brain injury (TBI), hemorrhagic shock, and cancer. This role also involves performing molecular tissue workups, conducting cell culture and molecular biology-based studies, maintaining lab organization, and contributing to data analysis and paper writing.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with and executing rodent models of injury (40%)
- Molecular tissue workups derived from trauma models (20%)
- Conducting cell culture and molecular biology-based studies (20%)
- Maintaining lab organization (5%)
- Data analysis and contributing to the writing of papers and research protocols (15%)
Requirements
- Master’s degree or baccalaureate degree with 3+ years of research experience for Assistant Specialists
- Master’s degree or equivalent degree or 5-10 years of experience for Associate Specialists
- Terminal degree or equivalent degree or 10+ years of experience for Full Specialists
- Experience with molecular techniques, animal surgery, tissue workup, cell biology
- Interest in clinically relevant projects impacting patient outcomes in trauma
- Able to work independently after guidance from the Principal Investigator
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent, 3+ years of research experience for Assistant Specialists
- Master’s degree or equivalent, 5-10 years of experience for Associate Specialists
- Terminal degree or equivalent, 10+ years of experience for Full Specialists
Benefits
Salary range for this position is $63,500 - $194,800. The University of California is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
