What You'll Do
- Develop rate level indications and develop predictive models to optimize pricing and segmentation of policies.
- Support company’s expansion into new non-admitted products and new states.
- Assist with quarterly rate adequacy reviews for all lines, integrating catastrophe models (e.g., windstorms, floods, wildfires) into the pricing structure.
- Assist with quarterly forecasting, incorporating premium and loss projections and internal and external cat modeling.
- Serve as a key business partner to portfolio managers and IT, providing technical support and verifying accurate implementation of pricing tools.
- Work with product owners to proactively manage the rate review process, including the preparation, proposal, and implementation for all pricing changes.
- Work closely with Enterprise Risk Management and Data Science on catastrophe modeling and interpretation, with a focus on integrating within all actuarial functions.
- Participate in the design and development of next-generation pricing tools and internal modeling, including AI-based improvements to actuarial processes.
- Analyze external or internal claims and exposure data to enhance proprietary pricing factors and models.
- Aid in the quarterly and annual reserving process, including preparing reports and presentations for senior actuarial leadership.
- Work closely with product owners and IT to provide requirements for pricing and product enhancements designed to produce efficient, accurate and compliant product presentation, quoting, and policy issuance.
- Continuously improve our analytics and data-driven decision-making capabilities and operating efficiency and quality.
What We're Looking For
- Education and Work Authorization
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in similar work. Completion of 3+ actuarial exams up to ACAS required for this position.
- Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship (U.S. Citizen and Green Card holder).
- Experience
- Experience: 3+ years of P&C actuarial experience necessary. Experience working closely with business units would be highly preferred.
- Familiarity: Experience in next-gen actuarial pricing and statistical tools and experience in implementation preferred.
- Data and Statistical Programming Skills: Advanced data and statistical programming skills including SQL, R, SAS or Python, with strong proficiency in Excel.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability of providing strategic recommendations. Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
