About the role
The Asset Specialist will serve as a liaison between drivers, leasing companies, equipment vendors, and internal departments (Operations Management and Safety) to facilitate lease purchases, rentals, and equipment provisioning for our drivers. This role is ideal for someone with experience as a service writer or coordinator, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys problem-solving and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Assist drivers in lease-purchasing trucks, trailers, and equipment, including coordinating tests, identifying issues, and finalizing lease options.
- Collaborate with the Safety Department to ensure timely completion of training, qualifications, and setup for new drivers.
- Order and execute equipment lease and independent contractor agreements.
- Work with Operations Management and Safety Departments to coordinate truck rentals as needed.
- Field calls from existing and potential drivers regarding leasing terms, options, and equipment.
- Maintain equipment inventories across multiple locations by coordinating with vendors and managing delivery schedules.
- Update systems for truck assignments (leased and rented) and complete month-end inventory processes for warehouse locations.
- Coordinate truck washing and provisioning for leasing or rental.
- Respond to emails and phone calls, taking appropriate actions to resolve inquiries.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience (preferred).
- Previous experience in leasing, service writing, or maintenance (preferred).
- Experience in the transportation industry (preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Customer service and team-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
