Asset Monitoring Coordinator

About the Role

We are seeking an Asset Monitoring Coordinator to join our Lab Support team at a major pharmaceutical customer location. The successful candidate will oversee enterprise-level support and service activities for company products and services in support of lab-based work. Responsibilities include developing customer relationships, understanding customer business and product installations, identifying service needs, planning service delivery, and driving proactive service and support mechanisms to reduce client downtime and support costs.

This role requires the ability to work well independently and as a team member, proactively bringing concerns to managerial staff. Strong judgment, self-direction, and initiative are essential.

Responsibilities

• Daily upkeep and maintenance of sensors to identify and troubleshoot issues with the asset monitoring system.
• Deployment of remote monitoring and utilization sensors in collaboration with the scientific community to ensure prompt installation and comprehensive application of relevant alerting parameters.
• Managing the online asset monitoring platform to provide on-site support to end users and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Regular auditing of sensors to ensure accurate data collection.
• Managing the inventory database and approving all additions, removals, and changes to equipment inventory and related data.
• Conducting monthly audits of the inventory database to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Supporting and spearheading projects related to the inventory database, including 2D mapping and quarterly RFID audits.
• Leveraging utilization and environmental monitoring data to inform decisions on capital expenditure, contract purchasing, and service strategies in conjunction with stakeholders.
• Regular uploading and collection of data for tracking sensor deployment and troubleshooting.
• Collaborating cross-site with other PerkinElmer teams to support the overall functioning and development of the Asset Genius program.
• Maintaining training and compliance in health and safety, security, environmental, and operational aspects of daily activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent technical experience.
• 2+ years of industry experience working in laboratory environments serving laboratory equipment is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and associated tools.
• Strong understanding of laboratory equipment maintenance, including mechanical and electrical systems.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex datasets and present actionable insights.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse teams, including scientists, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and drive consensus among diverse teams.

Working Environment

• Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses).
• Job pace may be fast, and job completion demands may be high.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 25% of the time.
• Occasional movement between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and buildings onsite.
• Frequent operation of instruments, objects, tools, or controls, requiring regular bending, squatting, stretching, and reaching.
• Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds (potential for occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds).
• Specific vision abilities required: close-range distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasional operation of a computer and other office machinery (e.g., calculator, copy machine, printer).
• May be required to handle hazardous waste according to local, state, and federal regulations, including identifying, handling, generating, accumulating, storing, and labeling hazardous waste.
• Potential exposure to lab-based hazards, including extreme temperatures, biological materials, and hazardous chemicals.
• May require completion of Medical Clearance, Respiratory Protection Training, and Fit Testing to wear a respirator.

Pay

The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $45,000 to $70,000. The final base pay offered will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, and individual qualifications such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
