About the role

We are looking for an Asset Management Specialist to manage IT assets, enforce governance policies, and provide on-site technical support across statewide offices. This position is full-time and on-site, requiring regular travel to client offices statewide (average 2 days per week) using a client-supplied vehicle. Only work authorizations that will not require sponsorship now or in the future will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Track and manage IT hardware and software assets from initial acquisition through active maintenance to secure decommissioning
  • Monitor software license utilization, enforce license request compliance, prevent over-licensing, and manage vendor audit defenses
  • Maintain the IT Asset Management database (AMDB/CMDB) to ensure accurate, real-time inventory tracking across remote and on-premise teams
  • Partner with Fiscal and procurement teams to review contracts, renewals, purchases, and negotiate pricing for enterprise software and hardware
  • Establish and enforce ITAM policies, approval protocols, and automated asset tracking workflows
  • Manage support requests and document system configurations using an online ticketing and documentation portal
  • Generate recurring reports on asset utilization, operational costs, compliance risks, and lifecycle refresh cycles
  • Provide support for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices (Windows, iOS, Android) across multiple field offices
  • Serve as the "eyes and ears" in the field, providing on-site technical leadership and troubleshooting imaging or LAN connectivity issues

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in each of the following:
    • Helpdesk or Field technician support
    • End User Hardware Support (laptops, desktops, mobile devices)
    • IT Asset Management
    • ITSM/ITAM Tools
    • Software installation and maintenance
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a commitment to user satisfaction
  • Strong communication abilities for technical and non-technical audiences
  • A valid US driver's license

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
  • CompTIA A+, CSAM, CHAMP, ITIL v4, or similar IT certifications (preferred)
  • Experience with Freshservice ITSM/ITAM (preferred)
  • NinjaOne RMM (preferred)
  • Google Workspace administration experience (preferred)
  • Experience in government or conservation organizations (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Windows 11 operating systems (preferred)
  • Experience with Active Directory administration (preferred)
  • Experience with iOS and Android mobile device management tools (preferred)
  • Experience using Network monitoring and discovery tools (preferred)
  • Experience using antivirus and security software and tools (preferred)
  • Experience with remote monitoring and management support tools (preferred)

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
  • Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

Pay

$25 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education.
