About the role
This job is located at Pratt & Whitney's Middletown facility in Connecticut, USA. It is an Assembly Technician C position on the second shift, working Monday through Friday from 3:12 PM to 11:59 PM.
Responsibilities
- Follow assembly drawings and/or specifications and computer information systems to prepare parts and build subassemblies, modules and accessories for new gas turbine engines.
- Perform assembly related activities including all aspects of engine assembly, assembly tooling usage, critical measurements, and instrumentation management during assembly operations.
- Auxiliary in adjustments to tools and equipment as necessary to perform work and meet process requirements during engine assembly.

- Use overhaul and repair procedures and specifications to perform the mechanical work to overhaul engines, modules and related components.
- Obtain parts, check details for conformance to assembly requirements and fit and measure components to assure overall dimensions are within limits specified.
- Use mechanic’s hand tools, holding fixtures, and specialized assembly equipment to build engine sections and perform installation of details and maintain equipment and tooling for assigned areas.
- Provide related support for test operations and assist with testing under direct supervision and specific test schedules.
- Perform similar duties to assist with co-producer, customer support or other similar programs, retrofit projects and to accommodate new engine programs and assist with changes in specifications.
- May be required to train for, obtain, and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within trade specialization.
Requirements
- Requires four years of high school plus four years formal training in a specialized field achieving A&P license or equivalent.
- Or 4 years of technical high school including technical post high school certification and 5+ years of heavy automotive experience.
- In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, priority consideration is given to candidates who are INTERNAL (and recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations).
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or be a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a background check.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $75,000 annually. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
Schedule
The position is on the second shift, working Monday through Friday from 3:12 PM to 11:59 PM.
