This position is for 2nd shift. Hours are Monday - Friday 3:12pm - 11:59pm.

Responsibilities

  • Follow assembly drawings, specifications, and computer information systems to prepare parts and build subassemblies, modules, and accessories for new gas turbine engines where tooling and process methods are established.
  • Assist with engine test operations and perform component and accessory tests as assigned.
  • Use overhaul and repair procedures and specifications to perform mechanical work to overhaul engines, modules, and related components.
  • Obtain parts, check details for conformance to assembly requirements, and fit and measure components to ensure overall dimensions are within specified limits.
  • Use mechanic’s hand tools, holding fixtures, and specialized assembly equipment to build engine sections and perform installation of details.
  • Maintain equipment and tooling for assigned areas.
  • Provide support for test operations, assist with testing under direct supervision, and follow specific test schedules.
  • Assist with co-producer, customer support, or other similar programs, retrofit projects, and accommodate new engine programs or changes in specifications.

Requirements

You Must Have:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and formal training in a specialized field achieving A&P license or equivalent OR
  • 4 years of technical high school including technical post-high school certification and 5+ years of heavy automotive experience.

Qualifications

We Prefer:

  • Experience as an aerospace mechanic or A&P mechanic.
  • 3+ years of avionics mechanic experience.

In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, priority consideration is given to candidates who are internal (and recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations).
