Job Description
This position is for 2nd shift. Hours are Monday - Friday 3:12pm - 11:59pm.
- Follow assembly drawings and/or specifications and computer information systems to prepare parts and build subassemblies, modules and accessories for new gas turbine engines where tooling and process methods are established.
- Perform similar duties assisting with engine test operations and performing component and accessory tests as assigned.
- Use overhaul and repair procedures and specifications to perform the mechanical work to overhaul engines, modules and related components.
- Obtain parts, check details for conformance to assembly requirements and fit and measure components to assure overall dimensions are within limits specified.
- Use mechanic’s hand tools, holding fixtures, and specialized assembly equipment to build engine sections and perform installation of details and maintain equipment and tooling for assigned areas.
- Provide related support for test operations and assist with testing under direct supervision and specific test schedules.
- Perform similar duties to assist with co-producer, customer support or other similar programs, retrofit projects and to accommodate new engine programs and assist with changes in specifications.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent & formal training in a specialized field achieving A&P license or equivalent OR 4 years of technical high school including technical post high school certification and 5+ years of heavy automotive experience.
- Experience as an aerospace mechanic or A&P mechanic preferred. 3 + years avionics mechanic experience.
