About the role

Assembly Supply Coordinators oversee the inventory, storage, and distribution of Assembly Department materials, equipment, and supplies throughout the facility. This role tracks stock levels, ensures supplies are ordered and delivered on time, and maintains accurate records of inventory receipt and use.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with department leaders to monitor the status of urgent outgoing orders, delivery timelines, and other changes or updates
  • Communicates inter-departmentally to improve efficiency and coordination of production operations
  • Manages the calibration of tools for the Assembly Department
  • Controls inventory levels for sealant(s) and paint(s) at all assembly workstations; monitors continuously to prevent shortages
  • Refills and restocks all expendable items; monitors stock continuously to prevent shortages
  • Reviews and tracks hot orders; researches and resolves issues related to shipping delays; may drive locally to obtain urgently needed materials
  • Aids in the packaging of product and transportation of parts throughout the facility; may pick up or deliver equipment and supplies to customers, shippers, other facilities, or to vendors & suppliers
  • Completes appropriate paperwork in compliance with internal processes and quality procedures
  • Maintains a clean and organized, safe work area
  • Verifies equipment is operating correctly and safely; performs basic troubleshooting and maintenance as appropriate
  • Complies with applicable manufacturing processes, work procedures, and supervisor instructions; Follows directions consistently and accepts responsibility for his/her actions and work product
  • Adheres to safety guidelines and procedures; proactively identifies job hazards and collaborates with leadership to minimize hazards and ensure employee safety
  • Must obtain and maintain forklift certification (on-site after hire)
  • Maintains a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

This role is identified as requiring ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance; therefore, qualified candidates must meet the definition of a U.S. Person (per EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15): An individual who is granted U.S. citizenship, orAn individual who is granted U.S. permanent residence (i.e., a "Green Card" holder), orAn individual who is granted status as a "protected person"

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • At least six (6) months of experience in a warehouse role performing stocking, order picking, and/or packaging
  • Forklift experience with a satisfactory record of safe operation is preferred

Skills

  • Attention to detail and demonstration of accurate counting, measurement, and associated recordkeeping
  • Ability to accurately read and understand customer drawings/blueprints and technical specifications
  • Familiarity with precision measurement tools is required (i.e. mics, calipers, gauges)
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities to appropriately handle unexpected challenges
  • Professional communication, both verbal and written (English)
  • Consistently legible handwriting (English)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word is required; ERP experience is preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, sit and/or stand for long periods to perform job duties
  • Regulary lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 50 pounds with peer assistance or material handling equipment to assist
  • Frequently bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel
  • Frequently climb steps, stairs, and ladders
  • Accurately distinguish colors, letters, and numbers
  • Use hands and fingers to remove and install hardware, adjust controls, and operate tools
  • Use hands and fingers to operate a computer and peripheral equipment
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, golf carts, and other material-handling equipment
  • Safely operate a motorized vehicle both on and off campus

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment where working conditions may vary significantly
  • The employee will be exposed to:
  • Moderate Noise (frequently); Excessive noise, hearing protection required (occasionally)
  • Dust, smoke, fumes/vapors (occasionally); may be required to wear a dust mask or respirator as needed
  • Extreme temperatures (occasionally)
  • Sharp instruments, including box cutters, scissors, and other tools
  • Hazardous equipment, including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment
  • The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and safety footwear is required
