Assembly Operator - 1st Shift - Direct Hire

About the role
nVent is looking for entry-level and skilled Assembly Operators on 1st Shift to join our team.
Shift Hours: 1st Shift - 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM
Responsibilities
- Work individually or as part of a team to assemble, fill, kit, prepare, label, and/or package an entire product or component of a product according to Work Instructions.
- Complete work based on specifications, drawings, job routings, and/or Work Instructions.
- Select and move production materials as required.
- Maintain equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.
- Meet established safety, quality, and performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
- Record accurate information on Manufacturing Order and perform transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
- Comply with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards.
- Report adverse conditions, non-conforming products/procedures, and 5S violations to department leader in accordance with escalation procedure.
- Adhere to department 5S standards daily and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Notify team leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning safety, quality, equipment, operations, materials, inventory, or documentation, in accordance with escalation procedure.
- Demonstrate flexibility by performing rotational assignments as needed.
- Participate actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Knowledge in use of scales (preferred).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (preferred).
- Experience following work instructions or reading blueprints (preferred).
- Experience in assembling mechanical parts into a finished product (preferred).
- Experience in using hand and power tools (preferred).
- Prior experience working in a light industrial facility (preferred).

Pay
Starting hourly pay is up to $20.75 with overtime opportunities. Compensation range: $14.80 - $27.50 per hour, depending on the position offered. Employee pay within this range will be based on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply. Eligible employees may receive other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
