Toyota is a leading brand in the automotive industry, committed to enhancing lives and delighting customers through innovative solutions. We are seeking a passionate Assembly Controls Engineer to join our EES PACCC Department.

About the Role

The Assembly Controls Engineer will lead and manage new model projects across various aspects of PACCC engineering in Toyota’s North American Manufacturing Shops. This role supports the department's goal of providing advanced control systems that meet safety, quality, productivity, and cost targets.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage control system projects within assembly and battery pack shops.
  • Develop and implement control algorithms and software programs for machine control and data collection systems.
  • Design and program PLCs using Toyopuc, Omron, and Rockwell.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals and decision-making processes.
  • Support model change implementations, Hoshin initiatives, and innovation efforts in assembly and battery pack engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or Associate’s Degree in Technical Field with 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • 2 years of experience with Information Systems – Networking (FLNet, Ethernet IP).
  • 2 years of experience with Information Systems – Data Collection (QIS, EDC, MDT).
  • 2 years of experience with production line control, indication of status, downtime event collection, communication, reporting, visualization, and callouts.
  • 2 years of experience with production equipment procurement, installation, and/or confirmation.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and shutdown periods to support tooling modifications and installations.
  • Travel 30% to support work at machine vendors, Toyota manufacturing locations, and occasionally in Japan.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Body Weld, Chassis Weld, or Case Weld (T/M or contractor).
  • Experience in Vehicle Assembly, Manufacturing Plant Operations.
  • Experience in Other Production Engineering Functions.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of PLC programming.
  • Knowledge of control algorithms and software development.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
