About the role

Toyota Manufacturing is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Assembly Engineer to positively impact safety, quality, and productivity KPIs through problem-solving and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering principles to resolve manufacturing operational issues.
  • Quickly gather and analyze detailed data to make decisions impacting vehicle quality.
  • Provide technical support to production for process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all activities comply with TMMI’s safety standards and OSHA regulations by providing tools, knowledge, and acting as a verification resource.
  • Manage and lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Participate in and/or lead cross-functional teams including production, safety, conveyance, maintenance, inspection, and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Applied Engineering.
  • Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment in an engineering or technical role, including co-op or internship experience during studies.
  • Project management experience (to include developing, leading, prioritizing work, meeting milestones, gaining consensus, and reporting out status of project).
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment in an engineering or technical role.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience driving.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Suite CAD software.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and ANSI requirements.
  • Experience with Equipment FMEA and machine reliability.
  • Expertise in machine design, risk assessment, and control implementation.
  • Experience applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards within the automotive industry.
