About the role
As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government services location in Austin, TX, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and other concerns. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, clients, and staff at a government assistance and rehabilitative services location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry in accordance with site-specific procedures, assisting with visitor direction and maintaining professional interactions with individuals receiving services.
- Document daily activities, incidents, patrols, and security-related observations accurately and promptly in required reports.
Requirements
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
Qualifications
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
Pay
$22.48 / hour
Schedule
- Position Type: Full Time
- Day shift: Monday–Friday, 08:30 AM – 04:00 PM
