Area Supervisor

About the role

The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area of the store and managing the general operations and supervision of the store when acting as the Manager on Duty. Key responsibilities include maintaining a safe and secure environment, customer service, general merchandising, loss prevention, front end supervision and operations, and fitting rooms.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment by understanding and practicing safe behaviors, immediately correcting or reporting unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership, and performing regular security checks.
• Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times.
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.
• Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed, including handling merchandise, processing deliveries, and managing stockrooms.
• Manage the front-end area, ensuring associates execute to Company standards, controlling wait times, and training on best practices like "Scan and Bag."
• Supervise fitting rooms, ensuring compliance with Company policies and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of these areas.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager, including cash pulls, bank deposits, and payroll administration.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
• Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
• Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
• Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
• Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
