About the role
The Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is looking for a collaborative and experienced Area Practice Manager for our award-winning Boise Heart Institute located on the Boise Regional Medical Center campus.
As the Area Practice Manager you will report to the Executive Director, Cardiovascular Service Line and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Boise Heart Institute practices including General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Structural Heart and 7 outreach locations in the Treasure Valley, Cascade and Sun Valley. This includes managing 15 physicians and 22 APPs, and a Clinic Supervisor who will oversee 20 patient service representatives and working cooperatively with the Regional Nurse Manager and 2 Nursing Supervisors.
You will be responsible for carrying out policies, protocols, etc., under medical directors lead, workflow functions, outcomes, customer satisfaction, and quality measures of the practices. You will monitor financial results monthly, complete variance reporting and action plans to meet established objectives. You will have a dyad relationship with Medical Directors for each site or subspecialty.
The Saint Alphonsus Heart Institute offers highly trained heart specialists who treat the most common to the most complex heart conditions. The Heart Institute offers state-of-the-art Heart Centers in Boise and Nampa and outreach patient care to other cities and towns in the Treasure Valley.

Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Boise Heart Institute practices and outreach locations.
- Manage workflow functions, outcomes, customer satisfaction, and quality measures to meet or exceed established financial and operational objectives.
- Monitor and report financial results monthly, including variance reporting and action plans.
- Participate in monthly meetings with physicians (including Joint Center Council) to facilitate decision-making and improve practice operations based on identified metrics.
- Oversee clinic supervisory roles in collaboration with the Saint Alphonsus Medical Group Network Director of Nursing and Clinic Managers.
- Leadership and management of personnel, operations, customer service, financial management, quality and compliance, business development, and communication/teamwork.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in business or healthcare-related field, with ten (10) or more years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7 years of supervisor/manager experience required.
- Working knowledge of hospital operations and experience working closely with physicians in a dyad fashion.
- Thorough knowledge of ambulatory practice and hospital operations and customer requirements.
- Strong organizational skills, experience with change management, collaboration skills, and experience with finance/budgeting.
- Compassionate leadership with strong analytical and self-initiative skills.
