Area Manager, Early Career (2027) – Florida/Alabama
About the role
Operations roles at Amazon put you at the center of how things move from a click to a doorstep. You'll help design, improve, and run systems that connect people, products, and places, at scale. As an Area Manager, you will engage, lead, and develop a team of hourly employees in a warehouse environment, focusing on motivating, mentoring, and managing your team to meet goals. This is a full-time, early career position located within one of Amazon’s fulfillment centers, sort centers, delivery stations, or other operations buildings. The role is not corporate, remote, or office-based.
Responsibilities
- Support, mentor, and motivate 50-100 direct report Amazon Associates.
- Work independently in an autonomous environment.
- Stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
- Work shift patterns that include nights, weekends, and/or holidays based on business needs (most shifts follow a fixed 4-day work week with 3 days off).
- Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, operate PIT equipment (at applicable facilities), and step in as needed.
- Work in an environment where the noise level varies.
- Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
- Climb and descend stairs (when applicable).
A day in the life as an Area Manager includes leading team huddles, walking the floor to address issues, driving safety, quality, and productivity, coaching team members, and ensuring smooth shift transitions. You’ll see the direct impact of your leadership on both your team and customer deliveries.
Requirements
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a bachelor’s or master’s degree (all degree requirements must be met before the first day).
- Must have work authorization without employer intervention.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment with physical demands including standing, walking, lifting, and operating equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program for Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $65,200 – $75,000 USD annually, depending on location. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
