About the role
We're looking for an Area Manager to oversee the build-out and day-to-day operations of Bellroy's U.S. retail stores. This role involves managing the transition from concept to reality, ensuring smooth operations and high customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the build-out of the Flatiron store and ensure it opens smoothly.
- Prepare for a potential second U.S. store opening by December, supporting multiple store openings.
- Coach and develop the store team, setting high standards for the US retail experience.
- Shape the operational playbook for US stores, improving efficiency and consistency.
- Monitor in-store performance, focusing on key performance indicators and customer experience.
- Share weekly updates with retail leadership on progress and challenges.
Requirements
- Three to five years of multi-site or store leadership experience.
- A proven track record of leading and developing frontline managers and teams.
- Comfort with owning retail performance metrics and addressing issues proactively.
- An eye for operational details such as rostering, stock management, visual standards, and opening/closing rhythms.
- Experience in building or embedding repeatable processes and documenting them effectively.
- The ability to stay informed about industry trends and adapt them to the US market.

- Experience with retail operations, including store management, inventory control, and customer service.
- Knowledge of retail systems and tools, including point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.

Location, Hours & Salary
- This is a full-time remote position based in NYC, Boston, DC, Chicago, Austin, Dallas, or Houston.
- You’ll report to a US-based manager and collaborate with the Melbourne office.
- The salary range for this role is $110,000–$130,000 USD.
- The role requires regular travel, typically monthly, including site visits, new store openings, and quarterly visits to operating stores.
