Area Manager

About the role

The Area Manager leads a team of hourly workers and ensures high levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance. The role involves managing the first, middle, and last mile of Amazon’s operations, focusing on customer expectations and delivering orders on time.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate hourly workforce
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
• Collaborate with support teams including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, Human Resources to develop plans to meet business objectives
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, and working in noisy environments
• Work in an environment with variable temperatures and weather conditions

Requirements

• 1+ years of employee and performance management experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
• Flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and holidays

Qualifications

• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques experience
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or related field
• Experience managing a team of 5+ employees
• Experience with process improvements
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $70,400.00 - $75,000.00 annually.
