Area General Manager

About the Role

Step into a dynamic leadership role where you’ll oversee multiple service lines, drive operational excellence, and lead high-performing teams to deliver exceptional client and guest experiences. You’ll serve as the strategic point of contact for our clients, ensuring all service standards are met while championing team development, financial performance, and continuous improvement.

The role focuses on completing specific tasks and projects, contributing directly through skills and expertise. Performs specialized technical tasks to support operations, primarily achieved independently but may collaborate with a team. Accountable for managing people, setting direction, and deploying resources, including performance evaluation, pay reviews, and hire/fire decisions. Results are achieved through the work of others, depending on the ability to influence and negotiate within the organization. Progression reflects acquisition of broad technical expertise, business and industry knowledge, and leadership capabilities. Accountable for business, functional, or operational areas, processes, or programs, which may include dotted-line or matrixed management.

Responsibilities

• Lead food service operations across Cambridge, Somerville, and Everett Hospitals.
• Provide strategic leadership and drive operational excellence.
• Strengthen client partnerships and enhance patient and retail dining experiences.
• Manage multi-site operations, budgets, labor, and teams while ensuring exceptional service, quality, and compliance.
• Serve as the strategic point of contact for clients, ensuring service standards are met.
• Champion team development, financial performance, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate directly with clients to build partnerships that drive satisfaction and retention.
• Manage, mentor, and grow a diverse team of managers and frontline employees.
• Achieve and exceed financial goals through effective planning and execution.
• Work across multiple service areas, bringing creativity and innovation to challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of management experience.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Experience leading food service or multi-service operations, with a strong grasp of both front-line execution and strategic oversight.
• Skillset to build and sustain high-performing teams, foster a positive workplace culture, and support employee retention.
• Financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and driving operational efficiencies.
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills, with a focus on service excellence and solution-oriented thinking.
• A hands-on leadership style with a passion for delivering results and driving continuous improvement.

Pay

Pay Range: $120,190 per year - $125,540 per year. Incentive Eligibility: Eligible to participate in Sodexo's incentive plan and earn variable compensation in addition to base salary.
