Essential Job Functions
- Assists in providing supervision of the pool and programs during assigned operation hours.
- Assists in scheduling staff for lifeguard and instructor duties.
- Assists in preparing pool for opening and closing.
- Assists in enforcing facility operating schedule and makes recommendations for changes in operating hours and/or staff hours as needed to supervisor.
- Assists in the training of new lifeguards and instructors and provides in-service training to current staff members.
- Performs duties of lifeguard and swim lesson instructor as directed.
- Performs on-deck liaison during swim lessons with the public as directed.
- Aids in handling public relations at the pool as directed.
- Reports all incidents to the Facility Supervisor.
- Aids in completing daily cash reports, securing monies, and closing down the facility as directed.
- Aids in correcting staff for noncompliance of policy or responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Two years of experience in aquatics including working as a lifeguard.
- Lifeguard Certification required.
- American Red Cross preferred.
- AED (Automated External Defibrillator) required.
- CPR certification required.
- First Aid certification required.
- Requires an acceptable general background check to include a local and state criminal history check and sex offender registry check.
Physical Demands
- The incumbent is regularly required to perform duties that require manual dexterity involved with swimming and instruction of the same, in addition to physical demands of lifeguard duties.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
Work Environment
- The work is typically performed outdoors at the pool facility or in an office for associated administrative functions.
