Aquatics Crew Leader - Seasonal

Essential Job Functions

• Assists in providing supervision of the pool and programs during assigned operation hours.
• Assists in scheduling staff for lifeguard and instructor duties.
• Assists in preparing pool for opening and closing.
• Assists in enforcing facility operating schedule and makes recommendations for changes in operating hours and/or staff hours as needed to supervisor.
• Assists in the training of new lifeguards and instructors and provides in-service training to current staff members.
• Performs duties of lifeguard and swim lesson instructor as directed.
• Performs on-deck liaison during swim lessons with the public as directed.
• Aids in handling public relations at the pool as directed.
• Reports all incidents to the Facility Supervisor.
• Aids in completing daily cash reports, securing monies, and closing down the facility as directed.
• Aids in correcting staff for noncompliance of policy or responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in aquatics including working as a lifeguard.
• Lifeguard Certification required.
• American Red Cross preferred.
• AED (Automated External Defibrillator) required.
• CPR certification required.
• First Aid certification required.
• Requires an acceptable general background check to include a local and state criminal history check and sex offender registry check.

Physical Demands

• The incumbent is regularly required to perform duties that require manual dexterity involved with swimming and instruction of the same, in addition to physical demands of lifeguard duties.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Work Environment

• The work is typically performed outdoors at the pool facility or in an office for associated administrative functions.
