Apprentice Mechanic Manual Machinist

About the role

We're seeking a Mechanic / Manual Machinist Apprentice who is eager to gain practical experience in mechanical repair, maintenance, fabrication, and manual machining.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanics and manual machinists with maintenance, repair, fabrication, machining, and assembly projects.
• Learn to safely operate hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and shop equipment.
• Support the disassembly, inspection, repair, adjustment, and reassembly of mechanical equipment.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, and component replacement.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Aid in the setup and operation of:
• Manual lathes,
• Milling,
• drill presses,
• grinders,
• saws,
• Gain experience in manual machining processes including:
• Turning,
• facing,
• drilling,
• boring,
• milling,
• threading,
• tapping.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Machining, maintenance, manufacturing, or industrial trades.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
• Dependable, motivated, and eager to develop new skills.
• Ability to work in a hands-on shop environment.
