Manual Machinist

CEIS Power is seeking an experienced field Manual Machinist with 5+ years of experience performing manual machining, rotating equipment repair, and industrial field service work. This is a contract position with an industrial service and repair company.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist
• Strong experience operating manual lathes, mills, and other conventional machine tools
• Experience machining or repairing large industrial components
• Experience working with rotating equipment preferred
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and machining specifications
• Proficiency using precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Comfortable traveling to customer sites for extended periods as needed
• Ability to work independently in both field and shop environments
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work safely in industrial environments

Responsibilities

• Perform manual machining and repair work on rotating equipment and industrial components
• Travel to customer sites to perform field machining and equipment repairs
• Operate manual lathes, mills, and other conventional machining equipment
• Machine shafts, sleeves, bushings, bearing fits, and other industrial components
• Perform precision measurements and verify components meet required specifications
• Support disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of rotating equipment
• Perform machining and repair work in the field using portable machining equipment when required
• Read and interpret drawings, measurements, and work instructions
• Troubleshoot machining and mechanical repair issues in the field
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment
• Travel frequently based on customer and project requirements
