Manual Machinist
Location: Hatfield, PA

Responsibilities
- Machine parts in small batch quantities using Engine Lathes, Manual Mills, Turret Lathes, and Benchtop Lathes.
- Set up, operate, and select proper tools to hold tolerances of +/- .001".
- Maintain high throughput and adapt to constantly changing workloads to meet customer demands.
- Set up milling fixtures such as indexers and vices using DRO.
- Apply understanding of tooling applications and proper feed/speed for various operations and materials to maximize tool life and efficiency.
- Grind tooling to create simple profiles.
- Perform daily preventive maintenance on equipment and assist supervisors with minor to moderate repairs.
- Log daily labor using ERP tracking software and complete shop travelers to comply with ISO standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints with family of parts tables to machine components to proper dimensions.
- Inspect parts using Calipers, OD/ID/Pitch Micrometers, Thread Gages, and Optical Comparator to ensure parts are within tolerance.
- Work with various materials including Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Plastics, and Special Alloys.
- Practice Lean Manufacturing daily.
Requirements
- 4+ years of relevant experience as a Manual Machinist.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layout, and process worksheets.
- Experience setting up, operating, and maintaining manual mills and lathes.
- Basic arithmetic and geometry skills; GD&T knowledge is a plus.
- Understanding of product quality and compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Basic knowledge of sheet metal and CNC equipment is preferred.
- Career Readiness Certificate (Silver or Gold) or Certified Process Owner (CPO) is a plus.
