Responsibilities

• Rotate through departments related to the trade to complete 8,000 on-the-job training hours and successfully finish related classroom instruction specific to the trade.
• Work closely with a Journeyperson to create and maintain CNC programs using CAM, and demonstrate proficiency in understanding NC code and writing NC programming manually.
• Collaborate with a Journeyperson to develop new processes and optimize existing turning, milling, and grinding processes for automotive components.
• Optimize processes to improve tool life, cost, process capability, and cycle time.
• Apply acquired skills in a highly motivated and hands-on learning environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge.
• Hands-on learner with experience in blueprint reading.
• Familiarity with CNC machining, accuracy in measurement, and metal cutting practices.
• Strong math skills.
