Your Key Responsibilities
- Complete a structured vocational training in a specific administrative or technical subject as a school leaver (with or without graduation), with the objective of getting an acknowledged vocational certification.
- Engage in a structured vocational training program to acquire practical skills in a specific administrative or technical subject.
- Collaborate with experienced staff to gain hands-on experience and knowledge relevant to the chosen field.
- Complete required coursework and on-the-job training to achieve an acknowledged vocational certification.
- Aid with daily operational tasks and contribute to team projects, utilizing theoretical knowledge in practical settings.
- Prepare for assessments to obtain an acknowledged vocational certification upon completion of the program.
- Rotate in departments related to the trade to complete 8000 on-the-job training hours and successfully complete related classroom instruction specific to the trade
- Work closely with a Mechanic (Electrician) in conducting preventative and corrective maintenance of the building, machinery and equipment
- Completes work-orders in a timely and efficient manner under the supervision of a journeyperson, attends classes as required for apprenticeship, and troubleshoots equipment
Your Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical and/or Electrical aptitude and knowledge
- Hands-on learner
- Enthusiastic about their career in skilled trades
- Excellent communication ability (written & verbal)
- A positive work ethic
- Problem solving skills
