Key Responsibilities

• Complete a structured vocational training in a specific administrative or technical subject as a school leaver (with or without graduation).
• Engage in a structured vocational training program to acquire practical skills in a specific administrative or technical subject.
• Collaborate with experienced staff to gain hands-on experience and knowledge relevant to the chosen field.
• Complete required coursework and on-the-job training to achieve an acknowledged vocational certification.
• Aid with daily operational tasks and contribute to team projects, utilizing theoretical knowledge in practical settings.
• Prepare for assessments to obtain an acknowledged vocational certification upon completion of the program.
• Rotate in departments related to the trade to complete 8000 on-the-job training hours and successfully complete related classroom instruction specific to the trade.
• Work closely with a Journeyperson in maintaining production stamping tooling in a timely and efficient manner.
• Work closely with a Journeyperson in programming, set-up and running CNC equipment in a tool room environment.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge.
• Hands-on learner.
• Blueprint reading.
• CNC machining.
• Accuracy in measurement.
• Metal cutting practices.
• Mathematics.
• An enthusiastic attitude towards their career in skilled trades.
• Excellent communication abilities (written & verbal).
• A positive work ethic.
• Problem-solving skills.
