Position and Area: Applied Music Sessional (AMS) – Violin
Responsibilities
- Define lesson objectives and materials.
- Provide clear guidelines on studio requirements and regulations.
- Teach lessons as scheduled.
- Administer and evaluate student progress through assigned repertoire and exercises.
- Ensure that the Strings Area and Performance Division requirements are met in regard to culminating juries and recitals.
- Prepare and submit final grade and comments in accordance with policy and scheduled deadlines.
- Maintain reasonable hours of student consultation outside scheduled class hours.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in violin performance or equivalent professional experience.
- Doctoral degree preferred.
- Ongoing performing activities encompassing a wide range of orchestral, solo, and chamber repertoire.
- Demonstrated excellence teaching violin at the university level.
Pay
$112.44/hour
