Estimated 2 to 3 Applied Music Sessional (AMS) appointments available, each consisting of 24 hour-long in-person lessons.
Pay
$112.44/hour
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in trumpet performance or equivalent professional experience
- Doctoral degree preferred
- Ongoing performing activities encompassing a wide range of orchestral, solo, and chamber repertoire
- Demonstrated excellence teaching trumpet at the university level
Responsibilities
- Define lesson objectives and materials
- Provide clear guidelines on studio requirements and regulations
- Teach lessons as scheduled
- Administer and evaluate student progress through assigned repertoire and exercises
- Ensure that the Percussion Area and Performance Division requirements are met in regard to culminating juries and recitals
- Prepare and submit final grade and comments in accordance with policy and scheduled deadlines
- Maintain reasonable hours of student consultation outside scheduled class hours
Additional Information
This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the agreement. Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement and should not apply for this position.
