About the role
The Applications Project Manager serves as a product and market expert, providing technical (and some business) support and training to the commercial sales team in North America. This role supports geographic and corporate growth initiatives by partnering with the sales team to identify and facilitate new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Supports geographic/corporate growth initiatives by partnering with the sales team to identify and facilitate new business opportunities.
- Identifies technical solutions by problem-solving and developing new applications, product selection, and optimal trial design strategy and execution.
- Communicates with commercial team representatives and customers to better understand each customer-specific process, any ongoing problems, and potential chemical solutions.
- Develops relationships and collaborates with technical and production leaders to alter adverse situations into business-sustaining connections.
- Maintains existing business and develops new product lines with R&D/Product Management while documenting all aspects of product validation (technical, financial, sustainability, patents, and regulatory).
- Manages smaller sections of an SBU or product line with minimal supervision and coaching from Product Management, R&D, and/or Applications Team Manager.
- Acts as a safety leader in training and education both internally and externally.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other technical degree.
- Expertise in administering chemical programs for the treatment of industrial influent and wastewater systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of clarifiers, DAF, and experience in pretreatment and membrane technologies.
- Experience in hydrocarbon and chemical processing, pulp and paper industry utilities.
- Expertise in power, food and beverage water and general industry is a plus.
- Boiler and cooling experience is a strong plus.
Qualifications
- Expected travel to be 50% - may be higher or lower at certain times of the year depending on demand.

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is between $123,690.00 and $181,412.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience, and other factors permitted by law.
