About the role
Power and Light (PAL) is a division within Atlas Copco’s Power Technique business area that develops, manufactures, and markets light towers, generators, and energy storage solutions for industries such as construction, mining, oil & gas, utilities, and rental. The Applications Engineering Support Specialist provides technical and analytical support to the Applications Engineering Manager – Power and Light in the implementation, commissioning, testing, validation, and performance evaluation of energy storage systems (ESS), generators, and hybrid power solutions across North America. The role supports engineering activities by assisting with system assessments, field performance evaluations, technical investigations, and product implementation initiatives, with the primary objective of ensuring successful deployment, operation, and continuous improvement of energy storage and hybrid power systems through technical evaluations, system validation, data analysis, and engineering support. The position works closely with Applications Engineering, Product Development, Service Operations, and customers to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable system performance in real‑world applications and contributes to the advancement of sustainable and hybrid power technologies. The specialist reports directly to the Applications Engineering Manager – Power and Light within the U.S. Customer Center and collaborates with Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Training, Service Operations, and external customers. The position is based in Rock Hill, SC, with remote work and significant travel to customer sites within the designated area.
Responsibilities
- Support the commissioning, testing, validation, and performance optimization
