About the role
The Applications Support Specialist provides technical support and guidance to users for various software applications. This role collaborates with the IT team and external vendors to ensure a high level of performance and reliability for all users.
Responsibilities
- Identify and document application issues in a timely manner.
- Provide technical support to end users.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve application/software issues, performing root cause analysis for recurring problems.
- Manage and maintain user access to software.
- Act as a liaison between IT, business partners, and vendors.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and IT staff on enhancements, changes, and training.
- Conduct application testing, support client testing, and summarize test data.
- Assist in developing and testing new software features.
- Create reports, dashboards, and workflows for software applications.
- Stay updated on application modifications and enhancements through release notes.
- Work closely with IT staff and service providers in a team environment.
- Drive improvements in application support processes.
- Manage support tickets through resolution.
- Be available for occasional night and weekend work.
Requirements
- 4-year degree, mid-level certifications, or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of experience in application support or a similar role.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with users to resolve issues positively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on end-user success.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Computer literacy with excellent Office 365 skills.
- Ability to make timely recommendations to solve problems using independent judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, and procedures.
- Self-starter with proven ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work to meet short-term and long-term goals with minimal supervision.
