About the role

The Application Owner will be responsible for owning the full lifecycle of applications within the Digital Servicing platform, supporting customers, agents, and other partners across multiple channels including web, mobile, and APIs.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end lifecycle of applications including development, delivery, support and maintenance.
  • Work closely with product owners, project managers, business, operations and tech teams, and vendor partners to create accurate estimates, technical solutions and plans.
  • Ensure technical solutions are implemented according to approved architecture, design, and non-functional requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership to dev teams and ensure development standards are met, including, code coverage, security, performance, DevOps.
  • Audit AI tools and become a champion for dev teams to increase AI adoption and enhance productivity.
  • Oversee application production deployment and support application availability and incidents once in production.
  • Become subject matter expert (SME) for portfolio of applications and the respective business area.
  • Collaborate closely with data, architecture, security, fraud and other teams to ensure designs incorporate best practices upfront.
  • Ensure all design and development efforts conform to enterprise standards and best practices across all projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure applications are secure, performant, resilient, and provide excellent user experience.
  • Delivery Support: In addition to leading development for applications this role is directly responsible for, provide SME and solution support to other projects and initiatives that involve applications owned by this role.
  • Production Support: Support production releases and post-implementation stabilization.
  • Maintain production support for incidents along with production support teams, and actively partner with teams to ensure incidents are resolved quickly.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in IT, with 3+ years specifically focused on frontend development.
  • Strong proficiency in React (Hooks, Context API) and hands-on experience building production-ready applications with Next.js (SSR/SSG, File-based Routing).
  • Solid command of modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3, including responsive design and modern styling tools like SASS or Styled Components.
  • Practical experience implementing WCAG 2.1+ accessibility standards and optimizing Next.js Core Web Vitals for performance.
  • Expertise in RESTful APIs, OAuth/JWT, and frontend testing frameworks (Jest, Enzyme, etc.).
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs, and a working knowledge of authentication flows like OAuth/JWT.
  • Familiarity with frontend testing frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library to ensure code reliability.
  • Comfortable with version control (Git), modern build tools (Vite, Webpack), and participating in CI/CD workflows within cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment, with a solid understanding of sprint cycles, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Experience conducting thorough Peer Code Reviews and a willingness to provide technical guidance to Associate or Junior developers.
  • Experience designing systems with clear, modular boundaries to prevent excessive tight coupling between projects.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this position is $128,000 to $140,000 at the commencement of employment for the Jersey City, NJ and Woodland Hills, CA area. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications. In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Schedule

This position is based in Corebridge Financial’s Woodland Hills, CA, Jersey City, NJ, or Houston, TX office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
