Role Overview
This position is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. The role involves ensuring software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Solutions must be well-designed with maintainability, ease of integration, and testing built-in from the outset. This position requires strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry, as well as design and architectural patterns.
Key Responsibilities
- Code solutions and unit tests to deliver requirements per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance standards.
- Design, develop, and modify architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while maintaining principal architecture integrity.
- Mentor other software engineers and coach the team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) practices and the automating tool stack.
- Execute story refinement, define requirements, and estimate work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle.
- Perform proof of concepts as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
- Automate manual release activities and deliver complex features and technology.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for integration, regression, and performance.
- Provide technical thought leadership based on experience with multiple software implementations.
- Take accountability for end-to-end solution design and delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
- Technical Skills: Experience in multiple frontend and backend languages including Python, Ansible, Java, and Bash scripting. A deep understanding of data structures and object-oriented programming principles is necessary. The role also requires experience with relational databases like Oracle and MySQL, application development methodologies, and proficiency in executing CI/CD and automated software testing. Working knowledge of JIRA, Remedy, or ServiceNow is also required.
