Application Architect III

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Application Architect to join a Market Risk Technology team within a Global Markets environment. This role requires strong hands-on application development experience. The architect will help design, build, and modernize scalable applications that support critical market risk business capabilities in a high-pressure financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and modernize scalable applications supporting market risk functions.
• Partner with global teams across Ireland, the UK, India, and the U.S. to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Develop scalable, maintainable application architectures using modern engineering patterns.
• Conduct database design and development, including SQL performance tuning and data model design.
• Guide technical decisions and resolve complex application design challenges.
• Take ownership of projects from the solution design phase through to final delivery.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills: Strong hands-on application development experience using Python, Java, React, and SQL.

Experience: Proven experience delivering enterprise applications, ideally in a financial services environment. Must have strong database design, development, and SQL performance tuning skills. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to partner with global business and technology teams.

General Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are required. Candidates must be self-motivated technical leaders capable of working in an agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Quartz.
• Investment Banking domain experience, specifically in Risk and/or product knowledge.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment.
