About the Role
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in Thyroid Oncology functions within the ambulatory thyroid oncology setting as an integral member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. The APP primarily manages the care of acute and chronically ill patients in this specific population or with related diseases, working collaboratively within a service-aligned team in the outpatient clinic. In some instances, the APP may also have responsibilities for this patient population in the consultative inpatient setting or serve as a resource for the inpatient care team.
The APP ensures an environment of safe, high-quality care grounded in evidence-based practice and education. The role requires advanced medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism in interpersonal and communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and a commitment to ongoing professional development and competency validation.
Responsibilities
- Manage the care of acute and chronically ill patients in the ambulatory thyroid oncology setting.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Serve as a resource for the inpatient care team when needed, including consultative responsibilities in the inpatient setting.
