About the role

Carilion Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Internal Medicine team in Christiansburg, Virginia. Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care services to adult patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions
• Perform physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients on disease prevention, health maintenance, and treatment plans
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings

Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program
• Experience: 1‑3 years preferred
• Licensure/Certification: Current state Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA); DEA license and Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required; AHA BLS‑HCP certification required; Advanced Life Support certification preferred
• Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine

Qualifications

• Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers
• Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills
• Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records

Pay

Compensation range: $107,993.60 – $172,785.60 (based on qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience). Includes a $21,000 sign‑on bonus.
