About the role
This position involves developing and implementing lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum program, presenting lessons that accommodate different learning styles, and teaching within the prescribed grade level and subject area.
Responsibilities
- Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for diverse learning styles
- Teach according to guidelines set by the Texas Education Agency, Board of Trustees, and administrative regulations
- Establish efficient classroom management procedures and maintain standards of pupil behavior
- Evaluate students' progress and report to parents as required
- Plan varied learning experiences using multiple media and methods
- Assess pupil needs and collaborate with other professionals to help students address health, attitude, and learning issues
- Be available for counseling with students and parents
- Participate in planning and coordinating work with aides and paraprofessionals
- Work collaboratively with the principal to develop evaluation systems
- Keep accurate records and compile necessary reports
- Perform all other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teacher certificate with appropriate subject and subject level endorsements
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to follow specific instructions with minimal prior experience
- Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
