ANTICIPATED: ESL Teacher (Grades: K-4)

About the role

This position involves developing and implementing lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum program, preparing lessons for diverse learning styles, and establishing efficient classroom management procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lessons that accommodate different learning styles.
• Teach within the prescribed course of study for the subject area at the designated grade level.
• Assume responsibility for written lesson plans for substitutes.
• Plan varied learning experiences using multiple media and methods.
• Evaluate and record students' progress and report to parents as required.
• Work with other professionals to assess and assist students with health, attitude, and learning issues.
• Interpret educational programs to the community through events like open houses and PTA meetings.
• Coordinate the work of aides and paraprofessionals.
• Participate in the development of evaluation systems for professional growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teacher certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level.
• Demonstrated general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Demonstrated knowledge of various routine tasks and duties.
• Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to adapt to a rapidly changing world.

Qualifications

• Understand and plan lessons leading to subject area objectives.
• Write detailed lesson plans.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior.
• Identify pupil needs and collaborate with other professionals.
• Be available for counseling with students and parents.
