About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum program, adhering to guidelines set by the Texas Education Agency, Board of Trustees, and administrative regulations. They will also establish efficient classroom management procedures, maintain high standards of pupil behavior, and evaluate students' progress according to state laws.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare lessons that accommodate different learning styles.
  • Teach within the prescribed course of study for the subject area at the appropriate grade level.
  • Assume responsibility for written lesson plans for substitutes.
  • Plan varied learning experiences using multiple media and methods.
  • Evaluate and record students' progress and provide timely reports to parents.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to address students' health, attitude, and learning issues.
  • Be available for counseling sessions with students and parents.
  • Interpret educational programs to the community through events like open houses and PTA meetings.
  • Coordinate the work of aides and other paraprofessionals.
  • Participate in the development of evaluation systems aligned with district guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teacher certificate with required subject and subject-level endorsements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and instructional methods.
  • Ability to follow specific instructions with minimal prior experience.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing educational landscape.
  • Willingness to stay updated with the latest developments in teaching practices.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. A remote working environment / alternate work arrangement is not an option for campus-based employees/campus-based positions because regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties at the worksite are essential job duties for all campus-based personnel.
