About the role
This position involves developing and implementing lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum program, preparing lessons for diverse learning styles, and adhering to state and administrative guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for different student learning styles.
- Teach within the prescribed course of study for the subject area at the appropriate grade level.
- Assume responsibility for written lesson plans for substitutes.
- Provide a variety of planned learning experiences using different media and methods.
- Evaluate and record students' progress and report to parents as needed.
- Work with other professionals to assess and help students with health, attitude, and learning issues.
- Participate in planning and coordinating the work of aides and paraprofessionals.
- Interpret educational programs to the community through activities like open houses and PTA meetings.
- Perform all other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
- Valid Texas teacher certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned.
- Demonstrated general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
- Demonstrated knowledge of various routine tasks, duties, and procedures.
- Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to stay current with professional developments.
Qualifications
- Understand and plan lessons leading to subject area objectives.
- Assume responsibility for written lesson plans for substitutes.
- Be available for counseling with students and parents before and after school.
- Participate in the development of evaluation systems for the principal.
- Keep accurate records of student information and compile, maintain, and file all required reports and documents.
