About the role
The role involves developing and implementing lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum program, presenting lessons that accommodate different learning styles, and establishing efficient classroom management procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for student learning styles.
- Teach within the prescribed course of study for the subject area at the grade level as per state law or district policy.
- Assume responsibility for written lesson plans for substitutes.
- Plan varied learning experiences using different media and methods to motivate students and optimize instructional time.
- Evaluate and record students' progress and report to parents as required.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals to assess and assist students with health, attitude, and learning issues.
- Be available for counseling with students and parents and participate in community activities like open houses and PTA meetings.
- Coordinate the work of aides and paraprofessionals, including student teachers.
- Participate in the development of evaluation systems for self-assessment.
- Keep accurate records and compile necessary reports and documents.
- Perform all other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
- Valid Texas teacher certificate with required subject and subject level endorsements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
- Knowledge of various routine tasks, duties, and procedures with the ability to follow specific instructions.
- Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to adapt to a rapidly changing world.
