About the role

The Annually Contracted Faculty member teaches Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint courses in the Business and Paralegal Programs, specifically BOA 1101, BOA 1102, BOA 1103, and BOA 1172.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches assigned courses as scheduled and assumes primary responsibility for and exercises oversight of the curriculum in conjunction with the Department’s policies, ensuring both the rigor of programs and the quality of instruction.
  • Designs and supports a range of appropriate learning activities considering individual differences of students.
  • Identifies and responds to students with academic or other needs by utilizing appropriate resources.
  • Uses technology in a manner appropriate to the nature and objectives of courses and communicates clear expectations concerning the use of such technology.
  • Maintains accurate and appropriate records in accordance with the Faculty Handbook and departmental policies.
  • Maintains attendance records, determines and submits grades in a timely manner, and communicates progress feedback as well as other relevant information to students throughout the semester.
  • Selects appropriate materials to support the course curriculum in accordance with the College’s guidelines.
  • Counsels students on academic issues and refers them to appropriate student and academic support services.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of educational effectiveness through participation in instructional, departmental, or institutional research.
  • Shares best practices with colleagues in formal or informal settings.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Management, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a business environment.
  • Business Education and Microsoft Office Specialist or Expert Certification(s) specific to the BOA course.
  • A State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Management, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a business environment.
  • Business Education and Microsoft Office Specialist or Expert Certification(s) specific to the BOA course.
  • A State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

Skills

  • Ability to teach Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint courses in the Business and Paralegal Programs.
  • Experience in a business environment.
  • Knowledge of Business Education and Microsoft Office Specialist or Expert Certification(s).
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with students.

Benefits

Compensation details are provided above. The position is full-time and unionized (if applicable).

Pay

Autumn/Spring: $21,924 (21 hrs.) - $25,056 (24 hrs.)

Schedule

Full time, 40 hours per week.
