Analyst, Sr Business Systems II
Responsibilities
- Defines customer needs in technical and business contexts.
- Ensures the proposed technical and business solutions meet the customer's objectives for the work effort.
- Provides guidance with planning and prioritization of business analysis activities in support of large, high-visibility projects and support efforts.
- Mentors less experienced staff to ensure they remain on target for meeting customer requirements.
- Elicits and documents user requirements to meet a business objective (25% of time). Sets customer expectations on feasibility.
- Identifies and validates requirements, organizing information into logical documents using business analysis models understood by both the customer and Information Systems.
- Acts as the Subject Matter Expert for one or more lines of business on various projects (25% of time). Mentors less experienced business systems analysts.
- Ensures understanding of why the business solution was chosen and guides both technical and customer departments in system development (10% of time).
- Facilitates the transfer of knowledge about the "big picture" direction of business units to others who support them (10% of time). Provides guidance to less experienced team members to transfer this knowledge to technical departments.
- Ensures accurate deployment of solutions through review of problem logs, assisting with test plans and test matrices, and other analysis activities (10% of time).
- Provides business direction for system changes (10% of time).
- Validates the business need for solutions to business problems and process improvements (10% of time).
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in the concepts of the supported business unit.
- Demonstrated knowledge of standard industry practices and procedures for the business unit.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, including expressing complex technical and business concepts to all management levels, peers, and business units.
- Ability to act as a liaison between the business unit and Information Systems.
- Ability to influence and negotiate solutions to business problems.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of how IT affects an organization and ability to link it to business processes.
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills.
- Ability to read and comment on test plans, test matrices, project plans, and scope and design documents.
- Conceptual understanding of project management techniques.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Agile Scrum Master experience.
- Agile Product Owner or Agile Business Analyst experience.
- Cloud-hosted application experience.
- Medicare experience.
- Experience with Jira/Confluence and TestRail/ALM.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and management of cloud-based analytics pipelines and deployments.
- Experience with version control, automated testing, and deployment of workflows.
Schedule
8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Possible overtime when needed to meet project timelines.
Onsite is highly preferred; partial and remote candidates will be considered.

Day-to-day responsibilities include operating in Agile environments, participating in daily stand-ups, and using tools like Jira and Confluence to track progress, document user stories, and collaborate closely with developers, testers, and business stakeholders. The role involves leading or contributing to team presentations, explaining complex technical solutions in a business-friendly way, designing and optimizing cloud-based analytics solutions, defining customer needs in a technical context, and ensuring proposed cloud solutions align with business objectives. The role also includes providing guidance and support for large cloud IT projects, contributing to data governance and compliance efforts, and mentoring less experienced staff.
