Business Analyst II / Sr. Business Analyst
About the role
The Business Analyst is a core member of NEPC’s Business Analysis team, responsible for partnering with business leaders and cross-functional teams to improve processes, enable scalable solutions, and support key firm-wide initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with stakeholders to understand business objectives, workflows, pain points, and opportunities for improvement
Facilitate discovery sessions, interviews, and workshops to gather and synthesize requirements
Analyze current-state processes and identify inefficiencies, risks, and gaps
Translate business needs into clear, structured requirements and actionable recommendations
Support decision-making through data analysis, business cases, and cost/benefit evaluation
Partner with IT and platform teams to evaluate and implement technology and data solutions
Create process models, diagrams, and documentation to support implementation
Evaluate options, trade-offs, and business impacts
Define and execute user acceptance testing (UAT) strategies and scenarios
Support end-user training, documentation, and rollout planning
Provide post-implementation support to ensure successful adoption and sustained value
Support or lead initiatives through the full project lifecycle, including discovery, requirements, design, testing, and implementation
Collaborate with project sponsors to define scope, priorities, and success criteria
Track requirements, risks, and dependencies throughout the initiative lifecycle
Support change management efforts, including communication, training, and adoption
Ensure solutions are delivered with appropriate validation, traceability, and stakeholder alignment
Lead process reviews and re-design efforts to improve efficiency, scalability, and consistency
Develop future-state workflows, process documentation, and operating models
Identify opportunities to standardize processes, reduce key-person risk, and improve documentation quality
Serve as a liaison between business teams and IT to ensure clear communication and shared understanding
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Consulting, Research, Operations, and Technology
Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders on process, tools, and operating model improvements
Collaborate with team members to share knowledge, improve practices, and enhance team capability
Contribute to firm-wide process inventory initiatives and continuous improvement programs
Formal Education & Certification
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, information systems, or a related field
6+ years of relevant experience in business analysis, consulting, or operations
Knowledge & Experience
Strong understanding of business analysis, project management, process improvement, and requirements gathering methodologies
Strong project leadership skills with a preference for experience leading business initiatives from concept through implementation, including project planning, change management, stakeholder coordination, and delivery oversight
Experience supporting cross-functional initiatives and working with diverse stakeholder groups
Proven ability to analyze workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions
Experience partnering with IT teams on vendor selection, system implementations and enhancements
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to quickly learn new systems and business processes
Experience working with collaboration and project tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, M-Files, OneDrive)
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
Investment industry experience is helpful but not required

Compensation
The base salary for this role will be between $92,000 - $130,000 per year dependent on which level you are considered at. Both levels include an additional annual performance bonus as well. Individual compensation and level are based on a variety of factors, including experience, education, certifications, location, responsibilities of the role, internal equity and alignment with market data.
