About the role
This position supports CDPH’s mission and strategic plan by performing technical and analytical work related to training, personnel, payroll, benefits, leave accounting, and special projects. Responsibilities include managing appointments, separations, benefits, Leave Accounting Balance audits, and backlogged work. The role requires developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external staff as well as control agency personnel.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical and analytical work related to personnel, payroll, benefits, and leave accounting.
- Manage workload associated with vacant rosters, complex technical issues, and backlogged work.
- Conduct Leave Accounting Balance audits and special projects.
- Handle appointments and separations.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external departmental staff and control agency personnel.
Qualifications
The Analyst II classification involves more responsible, varied, and complex work, requiring greater independence of action and decision-making. The Analyst I classification performs work of average difficulty and complexity, with responsibilities increasing as the incumbent advances through three alternate ranges (A, B, C). Advancement reflects broader knowledge of the work environment and organizational requirements.
Pay
- Analyst II: $6,031.00 - $7,547.00 per month (new to state candidates hired at minimum salary).
- Analyst I:
- Range A: $3,861.00 - $4,839.00 per month
- Range B: $4,181.00 - $5,233.00 per month
- Range C: $5,014.00 - $6,276.00 per month
Note: This position is subject to the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025, which temporarily reduces monthly base pay by 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary ranges above do not reflect this reduction.
Schedule
Permanent, full-time position with hybrid telework options. Located in Sacramento County.
