About the Position:
- Directs and coordinates the review and processing of statewide damage claims filed with the Department of General Services (DGS).
- Investigates and evaluates potential and filed public liability claims arising in the District.
- Provides support to attorneys in the Legal Office.
- Evaluates and processes tort claims in the amount of $12,500 or less pursuant to Government Code section 937.5.
- Represents the Department in Small Claims Court.
- Makes assignments and provides guidance and assistance to other staff in the unit.

Requirements:
- Experience in handling public liability claims.
- Knowledge of Government Code section 937.5.
- Ability to represent the Department in Small Claims Court.
- Proficiency in using computer software for claim processing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in claims handling.
- Experience in Small Claims Court representation.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
