Under the direction of the District Director and within the guidelines of the Corpsmember Development Unit, the Transition Navigator prepares and places young adult members of the California Conservation Corps (CCC) in post-Corps employment, training, or educational opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multiple partners (local, state, federal, private, and leadership) to implement programs or processes that enhance job opportunities for young adults.
  • Provide career consultation services, including one-on-one guidance, resume reviews, mock interviews, and application assistance.
  • Manage and coordinate transition services for CCC members to secure post-program employment, training, or education.
  • Maintain confidentiality and diplomacy in all interactions.
  • Utilize knowledge of youth development principles, public/private sector employment trends, and industry opportunities to support members.
  • Demonstrate computer literacy with tools such as Windows, Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Salesforce.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid California Driver’s License.
  • Eligibility for the Analyst II classification, including successful completion of the civil service exam for Analyst 2 (see exam bulletin for details).
  • Current State of California employees may qualify through lateral transfer, reinstatement, or Training & Development (T&D) assignment if in a comparable classification.
  • Non-State candidates must meet the minimum qualifications outlined in the Class Specification for Analyst II.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of youth development principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with public/private sector employment opportunities and industry trends.
  • Experience with or knowledge of the Conservation Corps and/or youth development programs.

Working Conditions

  • Position is based at the Norwalk Center: 11401 South Bloomfield Avenue, Norwalk, CA 90650.
  • Classified as "In Office" with no telework eligibility.
  • Permanent, full-time role.

Pay

$6,031.00 - $7,775.00 per month. New State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range, if applicable.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implements the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025), which reduces monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. The salary range above does not reflect this reduction.

  • Career consultation services are available at the CCC’s physical career center in Sacramento (Poppy Pavilion, 715 P Street, Sacramento, CA 95814) every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (11 a.m. – 4 p.m., except state holidays).
